Italian Society for Cardiovascular Prevention (SIPREC) Commitment

The Italian Society for Cardiovascular Prevention (SIPREC) and Italian National Research Council (CNR) are committed to raising awareness of the importance of eating whole grain to prevent cardiovascular deaths that are attributable to diets low in whole grains.

Therefore, the Guidelines of the European Societies (ES) that work on cardiovascular prevention, including the ES of Cardiology and the ES of Atherosclerosis, indicate that whole grains are the preferred cereals, while refined cereals must be eaten in moderation.
